Unreal Engine AI means three things: gameplay NPC AI, Epic Developer Assistant, and third-party editor plugins. Dola is the last of those — not Behavior Trees and not Epic’s panel.

Unreal Engine AI means three different things

Search “Unreal Engine AI” and you get three products that do not substitute for each other. Mixing them is how a Behavior Tree tutorial ranks next to a plugin waitlist.

Gameplay NPC AI — Behavior Trees, Blackboards, EQS, AI Controllers, StateTree. That is engine gameplay. Epic’s docs own it. Dola’s ai specialist can edit those assets when you already have a project open; this page is not a tutorial for building an NPC from scratch.
Epic Developer Assistant — Epic’s first-party in-editor Q&A and C++ guidance panel (UE 5.7 marketing also says “in-editor AI Assistant”). Web entry: Epic Developer Assistant. Dola is not that panel.
Third-party editor assistant / plugin — agents that edit the live editor: Blueprints, assets, PIE, materials. That is Dola’s market, and the crowded 2026 category page.

The commercial page for that category is AI coding assistant for Unreal Engine 5.
